Awareness of the law

Strict laws apply to the sales, ownership, storage, transportation and use of guns. The information within these terms and conditions, and elsewhere on our site,  is intended only as a guide to legally purchasing guns and accessories, and should in no way be considered complete. Make yourself fully aware of the laws pertaining to the particular type of guns and equipment that you intend to purchase.

 

Buying Airsoft guns (6mm spherical plastic pellet firing guns)

Airsoft guns that do not look like realistic firearms (because they are translucent or brightly coloured) may be purchased by anyone who is 18 years of age or older.

Airsoft guns that look like the real thing are classed as Realistic Imitation Firearms and may only be purchased under the following conditions:

   you are18 years of age or older, and

   you are a current member of UKARA as part of a group that has public liability insurance, or
   you are buying on behalf of a film, television or theatre production company or
   you are buying on behalf of a museum or
   you are a Crown Servant in pursuance of Crown duties 

It is possible for us to deliver your order for airsoft guns to your home address, in the normal manner.

There are no age restrictions to using airsoft guns, so they may be purchased as gifts for minors, although we recommend adult supervision for younger children. Airsoft guns should always be used with eye protection, especially when used for skirmishing.

 

Buying 4mm BB guns, diabolo pellet air guns & moderators (excluding FAC air guns)

BB guns, airguns and moderators may be purchased by anyone who is 18 years of age or older, but they can only be purchased over the counter. We cannot deliver them to you by courier. If you place an order using our website that includes an airgun or silencer, payment will be taken and the item(s) will be set aside for you to collect.

 

Airguns may only be used on private land with the permission of the owner.

Airguns may only be transported in public whilst unloaded and contained within a case by someone over 18 years of age.

Airguns may be used unsupervised by anyone who is 14 years of age or older, but anyone under the age of 14 must be closely supervised by someone over the age of 21.

 

Buying shotguns (excluding FAC shotguns)

To purchase a shotgun, you will need to present a current shotgun license along with photo ID.

Shotguns can only be purchased over the counter, we cannot deliver them to you by courier. If you place an order using our website that includes a shotgun, payment will be taken and the item(s) will be set aside for you to collect.

 

Buying rifle firearms, FAC air guns and FAC shotguns

To purchase a firearm rifle, a high powered FAC air rifle, or a high powered FAC shotgun, you will need to present a current firearm certificate along with photo ID.

Firearms can only be purchased over the counter; we cannot deliver them to you by courier. If you place an order using our website that includes a firearm, payment will be taken and the item(s) will be set aside for you to collect.

 

Accuracy of product information and prices

We strive to keep our product information and prices as accurate and up to date as possible, however we reserve the right to change these at any time and without notice, as do our suppliers. Prices and details should be considered an 'invitation to treat', and we reserve the right to cancel and refund orders that have been placed for any erroneously priced or erroneously described goods.

 

Items not kept in stock

Our website includes items (mostly guns) that are not kept in stock at our store, but which will usually be dispatched or become available for collection within one or two working days of placing your order. Items are only shown as being "Out of Stock" if we expect items to be unavailable for longer periods.

Unexpectedly running out of stock

The nature of online retailing means that sometimes we run out of stock between the time you add an item to your basket, and the time you complete checkout. We also draw from the same stock for our in-store customers. In the event that we do not have the stock to complete your order, we will contact you with an estimated delivery time of replacement stock and/or offer an alternative product. At this time you may, of course, cancel the item from your order.

VAT

All prices on our website include VAT at 20%. 

 

International orders

We do not currently supply guns or moderators for international orders even if the laws of the destination country allow the import of such items.

 

Payment of your order

Payment for orders placed on our website using the online credit card option at checkout will be taken immediately even if your order includes items that are not currently in stock. Do not consider this automated payment as J&S Field Sports acceptance of your offer to buy.

Alternatively, you may select "offline payment" at checkout, in which case we will contact you to obtain payment details or arrange for payment to be made in store.  

 

Cancelling your order

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. Any orders that have already been dispatched to you or that include items that have been specially ordered from our suppliers, may incur a handling/cancellation fee.

Collections from other RFD stores

It is possible to arrange for delivery of guns and moderators to another registered firearms dealership that is local to you. Most dealers charge a handling fee for this service. Please contact us to arrange for your order to be delivered to another RFD store.

 

Deliveries

Orders for delivery will usually be dispatched as soon as possible after we receive your order. Most items will be delivered within ?? working days. 

If we expect your delivery to take longer, we will inform you promptly.

 

Deliveries that are damaged

Any deliveries that show signs of damage must be signed for as "damaged and unchecked".
